i know none of you remember what i did for last year’s “a post a day in may”... heck, i barely remembered. heck, i barely remember what i had for breakfast one hour ago. but i went back through the blog’s archive and that was my “living proverbially” month where i had a proverb a day that i highlighted and tried to put into practice. yeah, that was a lot of fun (insert sound of sarcasm dripping).
by the way, i know a lot about the sound of dripping as we have just dealt with a major leak in our bathroom... “our” meaning the bathroom 4 out of 5 of us shower in daily. first we had to take apart the paneling in maxx’s room for the plumber to get in there to repipe the whole thing (and by “we” i mean adam). and we have had to all shower in the “little shower” (adam’s shower in the master bathroom). nothing will speed up your sanctification process like having to wait for two teenagers to shower before you can get into the shower. nothing will show you the selfish pride that lurks in your soul like when when everything in you wants to go into the bathroom and scream, “IT IS MY TURN! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR HOURS FOR THIS SHOWER AND I WANT TO GO TO BED BEFORE MIDNIGHT BECAUSE I HAVE TO GET UP EARLY AND MAKE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST FOR YOU THAT YOU WON’T WANT TO EAT AND THAT I WILL MAKE YOU EAT AND NOW ALL I WANT IS MY LEGS SHAVED WHEN I GO TO BED AND HOW LONG CAN IT TAKE YOU TO SHOWER ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” yes, the restraining work that the Holy Spirit has to do on me is enormous. good thing He is equal to that task.
so what should i do this may? any suggestions... i do so love a good theme.
i could highlight a book a day that i have read and LOVED and learned something from. Lord knows that i have read enough books to fill a few months/years/decades/millenniums.
or since my goal for 2010 is to LISTEN... perhaps a moment each day where i listened to someone other than my own annoying voice.
or i could just write things in ALL CAPS that i really want to say that the Holy Spirit doesn’t let me say... which might be fun.
any other suggestions of things you would like me to blog about every day for a month? we could do my virtues... but we would run out before we were into the first week/day/5 minutes...
so if you don’t chime in with a comment or email me a suggestion, you are likely to get a month of senseless drivel. and if you do chime in, you are likely to get a month of senseless drivel. the choice is up to you... choose wisely.
