it should come as NO surprise that i LOVE movies. because i love stories. i love seeing a good story up on the big screen while eating popcorn (or at our amc theater, cheese sticks. they have AMAZING cheese sticks there.)
and i love it when a good story makes me think of bigger stories. or a particular scene makes me bawl like a baby because it holds a Truth so raw and beautiful that tears stream down my cheeks even when i watch it over and over again in poor quality on youtube (and you really should see this scene in 3d. amazing. worthy of cheese sticks.)
did you see tangled? the disney movie. about rapunzel? the lost princess. only she didn’t know she was lost. but she always wanted to see the lights that went up every year. on her birthday. she felt like they meant something. only she had no idea they were for her. the part where her parents uncover that first light. and then all those other ones go off. breathtaking. it is a good story. thank you disney. i love it when you do good stories. and 3d. and i can watch them with cheese sticks. good stories go better with cheese sticks.
good stories give you hope. one of my favorite lines ever is from one of my favorite books, the tale of despereaux... "stories are light. light is precious in a world so dark.” and this one “and hope is like love... a ridiculous, wonderful, powerful thing.”
