for today... the last monday in december, the day before my 19th wedding anniversary...
Outside my window... gray day, my kids scootering off on two “new” scooters (new to them) that they found in a trash pile in front of our neighbors house yesterday (they asked the neighbors if they could take them) and they are going to feed and care for another neighbor’s dogs. and then another neighbor and her kids are coming over to play games (the kids) and scrapbook (the moms). i think it might be neighbor day today!
I am thinking... about how i never want school to start again and that my tea must be ready by now. i need to go and add the cream and sugar and drink it to start my mind....
I am thankful for... another week of vacation! and my cup of tea.
From the learning rooms... i am learning that a limited blog theme is EASY. limits=good
From the kitchen... i have NO idea. i HAVE to go to the grocery today. there is no food in that kitchen left...
I am wearing... sweats and a t-shirt. i also HAVE to do laundry.
I am creating... this blog entry and hopefully some scrapbook pages today.
I am going... to the grocery, i promise. and to costco... millie needs more contacts. and the orthodontist, her BRAND NEW clear plastic retainer split. ugh.
I am reading... the fire by katherine neville (it is a brand new sequel to a book the eight that i read of hers 20 years ago and LOVED).
I am hoping... to feel better today. it was a rough weekend. i just felt sad all weekend.
I am hearing... the washing machine (i told you i needed to do laundry) and not much else.
Around the house... there is CHAOS and mess. christmas is cleaned up, but i need to do a really good house cleaning... and i haven’t yet. and won’t today. but there is always tomorrow!
One of my favorite things... that i received for Christmas is this perfect tea maker and it is just that PERFECT....
A few plans for the rest of the week: a goodbye tea party for a friend. clean this house. a goodwill run. order coats for our NYC trip. plus a movie and dinner anniversary date tomorrow night. i was hoping that this year adam and i could plan something BIG for our 20th next year, but with dave ramsey and college saving and this economy...somehow i think a movie and dinner date will be on the docket for next year too. well, that isn’t so bad. for our 10th anniversary we couldn’t even afford a dinner out (we used a gift certificate someone gave us for Christmas) and we couldn’t afford the movie either, so we just walked around the mall and picked out things we WOULD have given each other if we could have afforded them. so i guess there is nice forward progress if next year we can afford dinner AND a movie. whoo hoo, hey big spenders (actually the term for us might be “hey big savers”)...
