well, you put four bloggers around a table with some blackberry grits and two hours later they will still be sitting at the table talking....
this was so much fun! the breakfast was much more fun than the actual blogging (and i do promise to finish up with my last thirteen women, once i recover from the month that was september).
left to right.... debbie (cheaper by the baker’s dozen), meg (life at lonesome pine), lori (a work in progress), and me.
the best part was listening to lori quote from memory the first THREE chapters of ephesians. incredible and inspiring.
ok, really the best part was the bag o’ goodies from lori. that shampoo is GREAT and the spa bodywash is wonderful for my every night obsessive leg shaving.
today was my church’s day of mission projects all over the city. they call it “first love”. i went around and took photos (because as we all know, “those who can, do, those who are lazy, take photos of those who are really working”). adam did work really hard as the foreman of his group and then he ran out of gas (literally) on his way home from a really remote location and i had to go and rescue him.
last night we had a date night. dinner- with a gift card (take that dave ramsey) and then to see the movie fireproof (with free passes to the movie, who does dave ramsey love??? me me me).
i was all prepared to suffer through the movie. i am a bit of a movie snob and love me some high quality film making and acting BUT after about 15 minutes into the movie, i was hooked! the story was so compelling and there were some beautifully filmed scenes. and i thought it was be all christian cheesy (and i do not like christian cheesy, which is the reason i don’t read christian fiction), but it was really refreshing and real and not much cheddary or mozzerelly or gorgonzoly at all.... not to mention that kirk cameron just makes me feel all teenagery and brings back my “growing pains” crush years... but that is besides the point.
i really am in total awe with the church in albany, ga that produced that movie. i also kind of started to like the “regular” people (not actors) who were in the movie. they reminded me of so many people at my church and it was just an engaging film with a great message. i may have to move to albany to help them write/direct/star in their movies. what do you think? especially if kirk keeps on starring on the big screen....
anyway, go and see the movie.
and then rent this movie and watch it with your teenage daughter. millie and i caught this at the dollar theater last year and i was AMAZED at how sweet it was and what a great message for girls (and their sometimes obsessive mothers). my middle school girls Bible study watched this movie on friday. they didn’t have school that day so we had “marshall’s movie matinee” that afternoon....
ok, are you all caught up on my life? and my crush on kirk cameron? and my spa bodywash love? good. now have a nice weekend....
the strangest...
hostess gift ever! lori brought this to me for hosting the blackberry grits breakfast and the september to remember contest. it was chock full o’ free products that she received from cvs and walgreens with her coupon cutting and thrifty shopping....
