witting.lea

"witting" is the present participle of "wit". "lea" is my name. together they make "witting.lea". the word wittingly defined is...

1. Aware or conscious of something.

2. Done intentionally or with premeditation; deliberate.

3. Information obtained and passed on; news.

may all the content found here live up to that definition...

dog days of spring...

April 11, 2007

yes, my dog is sick again. he isn’t eating and he has the shakes. i am very sweet to him when he is sick. i think i have munchausen syndrome (that one where you are really thrilled when someone is sick and you have to take care of them). i should be nicer to the dog when he is well, but NO , i save my sweetness for when he is vomiting and can only lay around on my lap. i am waiting for the vet to call me back. of course, the vet will want me to bring the dog into the vet office ($$$$$$$$$$$$$) and my kids have all invited friends to go to church with them tonight and we can’t go to the vet AND church at the same time. and the minute millie gets home (4:30), we have to get ready to leave for church since the supper is at 5:00. this is not looking good for the schedule, the dog, or the friends we have invited to church. Oh yeah, i have to pick up the 1000 printed newsletters for pto (i create them and have them printed up every other week, i cannot WAIT until summer time).

i could take him to the vet in the morning, BUT i have to take the newsletters in and put them in teacher mailboxes (22 per mailbox), after that i go directly to the bible study that i have missed the past two thursdays, and then i have a dental appointment that i rescheduled twice already. then home in time for the bus to arrive with rosie, go to school to pick maxx up from titus sports, homework, soccer for rosie, and book fair tomorrow night at the school. WHEN do working women have time to work?

i could take him on friday, but that is clean the house and get ready for the TWO bridal showers i am throwing this weekend and the ONE cookout on sunday night at our house. oh, and plan the sunday school lesson for sunday. not to mention the middle school girls bible study friday morning at 8:00 and i need to cook some breakfast for that. calgon take me away. why hasn’t that vet called me back?

here is the quote of the minute...

“The bow too tensely strung is easily broken.”

{publius syrus} sidenote... who names their kid “publius”?

of course, the bow not strung tensely doesn’t send the arrow very far at all.

{leaius marshall}

i have trouble with that balance part. i am either too tensely strung and about to break OR i am so loose that i am no darn good to anybody and watch 24 all day long. and you all know that i have done that way too much.

btw... in the middle of that last paragraph i had to get up and clean up doggie puke that was deposited at my feet. i will say on his behalf that he held in his next bout and i got him outside and he went to the bushes to throw up the rest. still no vet call. still no idea of how to balance my life, my time, my energy, the dog’s health, etc...

another funny sidenote, maxx and rosie are arguing over who will cry harder if comet dies.

rosie says, “i will cry off my head”.

maxx retorts, “i am older, so i can cry harder”.

i bet adam will cry the hardest IF the vet bill arrives at the same time as the dog’s demise...
