you should know right up front that i am blogging AND watching steve jobs (and if you are pausing to try and remember who he is, then i don’t know why we are friends) give his keynote speech address at MacWorld 2008 so i can drool and make a “things that make me break the 10th commandment” list. i do think it is ironic that eve was tempted by satan with an apple... and all these generations later, and i am NO better than her.
here is a funny little story about millie (that lovely girl in the photo above, notice that her hair is more brown than blonde... but based on this story, i think she might have more blonde in her than earlier realized)...
today at school, one of millie's teachers was talking to her about her options for electives next year. the teacher was talking with her one on one and reading down the list of electives... here is the conversation that started with the mention of one particular elective...
teacher: and we have shop as an elective.
millie: (face brightening and getting all excited): SHOP? that's an elective?
teacher: yes.
millie: where do you go?
teacher: we have a shop here. mr. kramer teaches it.
millie: well, what do they sell?
teacher (finally understanding): i don't think it is the kind of shop that you are thinking of millie.
millie: (so disappointed) oh, it isn't like shopping at the mall. i am good at that kind of shop.
OK- back to macworld. steve jobs is showing that new ipod touch with a GPS in it and the maps feature so i could figure out where i am WHEREVER i am and WHEREVER i need to go in the world (like i ever go anywhere but publix but just in case, i want to be prepared).
ok, now i have to go and do my new BETH MOORE Bible study, Stepping Up. i LOVE me a new beth moore Bible study. i think i have done almost EVERY one of them and this one is great because it is on Psalms and i have never done an intensive study on psalms though i have always read at least one psalm daily during my bible study time.
here is my favorite message version of a proverb from yesterday’s reading...
PROVERBS 17:27-28
The one who knows much says little;
an understanding person remains calm.
Even dunces who keep quiet are thought to be wise;
as long as they keep their mouths shut, they're smart.
so, the less i say means the more i know and even if i don’t know anything and i keep my mouth shut people will think that i am smart....
so not another peep from me today, people....
is it working? are you feeling my smartness?
how about now...
hmmm, perhaps if i actually did stop writing...
