today is christmas adam...

that is what today is... december 23rd has always been “christmas adam” to me. it is a little thing i came up with when i was really young (and not married to a guy named adam, though he does brag that i was thinking about him LONG before we met and it was some message from God, more likely it was a dire warning).

see, i decided that since the day before christmas was “christmas eve” that the day BEFORE the day before should be christened “christmas adam”. i thought “christmas eve” was named after the eve of the Genesis account of creation and not “eve” from evening.

since it was eve that ate the apple that started the whole sin thing and thus our need for a savior that the day before Jesus’ birthday was named for the woman who made His birth necessary. and i thought that adam should have his day too since technically he did partake of the apple and by “adam’s fall, we too sin all”. i always referred to the 23rd as “christmas adam” and told everyone of my deep convictions and thought perhaps hallmark would pick up on the trend and the calendar companies would add this date to our calendar and i would be famous...

i didn’t know that “eve” was for evening, but i knew the need for salvation and a Savior. i was a deep thinker at a young age and very spiritual and had a need for fame. wish i had retained those qualities...

then i married a guy named adam, had some kids, and we all call this day “christmas adam” and my kids really think it is strange that nobody else calls it that.

hallmark, call me...

so HAPPY CHRISTMAS ADAM to you all!
