on election eve...
my friend, liz, is trying to steal my mcCain sign.
where is the civility? she needs a muffin....
so, what did i do today on election eve? i made 2 dozen muffins (cappuccino muffins and pumpkin cream cheese muffins), my friend, liz (a democrat) came over with her zucchini muffins (notice that the republican had MORE muffins to share... i am just saying that the “share the wealth” might have to start with muffins). we put all the muffins into two nice baskets. decorated those baskets with ribbons and this little sign (laminated, OF COURSE) ... liz does own a laminator too, so lamination is not favoring one party over another....
and set out to both parties headquarters to spread the civility and the carbs....
here i am handing over the muffins to two lovely gals at the UBER busy democratic headquarters. that place was PACKED with people, maps, signs, and now muffins....
these gals were so lovely and gracious and took time out to step outside to take a photo in front of one of their 354 signs outside.
they are the nicest fascists that i ever met (ha ha ha).
and then on to the republican headquarters. no signs outside, you wouldn’t even know what was going on in that place until you got close. it seems a bit more organized and less chaotic. they were also gracious. and ms. vivian (the receptionist) accepted the muffins because as one guy working there said, “be in the picture ms. vivian, you got mcCain supporter written all over you”.
a definite sense of humor in both places.
so liz and i made it out alive from both places, though as we left the republican headquarters, ms. vivian yelled out that she had a sign for liz to put in her yard if she wanted it.... liz didn’t want it. most likely because she had already stolen the mcCain sign from my yard earlier in the morning....
and even though i had a bipartisan morning of unity and civility...
dinner tonight is sola-republican right wing ticket meal....
i am serving kung P.O.W. chicken served on a bed of republican rice.
and for dessert...
baked alaska.
